Since 2019, we have been working with a project called “Black interior” that focuses on enhancing the interior with black leather components. Originally, the interior consists of textile materials. Examples of components that recieve this upgraded treatment include seats, door panels, instep handels and the entire dahboard.
Truckers find that leather makes cleaning the interior much easier, while also extending its overall lifespan.
The dashboard, being exposed to high levels of heat, necessitates exceptional durability. To meet this demand, we have developed a specialized technique. We begin by covering the plastic panel with a heat-activated glue, tested and approved for the automotive industry.
We thin the leather to enhance flexibility, improve heat management, and ensure a high-quality, long-lasting interior design for truck dashboards. Our skilled craftsmen meticulously sew design stitching onto the dashboard using color-matching thread, carefully aligning the stitches with the curves of the dashboard for an excellent appearance. Even the slightest deviation between the seam and the edges can result in visual disharmony.
By utilizing our membrane vacuum press and incorporating genuine craftsmanship, we ensure that the leather conforms seamlessly to the plastic surface, thanks to our refined technique. The dashboard can be elegantly dressed in high-quality black leather. Additionally, upon request, we can also outfit the instep handle with the same premium leather.
This project commenced with a collaborative development process involving the customer and the creation of a few prototypes to meet each part’s specific criteria. On our end, the seat upholstery is skillfully sewn in Nagyvázsony, Hungary, by our talented seamstresses.
